Shiren Van Cooten

After graduating from the University of Toronto in Peace and Conflict Studies, Shiren Van Cooten attended the Toronto Film School Film Program, also completing a certificate in Film Production at the New York Film Academy (Los Angeles campus), and the Independent Producers Program (Seneca College). She is a former trainee of the Canadian Media Producers Association, in Business Affairs. She has worked with the ReelWorld Film Festival, ReelAsian Film Festival, Reel One Entertainment, and Bell Media.
After moving to Vancouver, she joined Lucas Talent as an actress for a couple of years before turning to build up her own company, B-kwe Company, teaching African Diaspora Studies to kids and teens. She would like to turn her focus to developing her writing and directing skills and is hoping to find the right producer to support her creative endeavours, as well as other crew members she can grow with.
