Sophia Noella

Sophia Noella is an emerging actor and dynamic storyteller who moved to Canada from Congo at the age of five. Her recent credits include The Spiderwick Chronicles (film and television); All Saints Christmas (film and television) and Portmore Park (short film).
After her family moved from Congo and briefly living in Kenya before settling in Canada, her first introductions to film and television came part and parcel with what became her new life during this formative stage in her life. Vivid memories of sharing laughter over movie scenes with family after immigrating and seeing different characters come to life on screen fostered her natural sense of curiosity and playfulness that she brings to the characters she gets to portray. Her early exposure to film also became a catalyst in navigating the idea of belonging to different worlds and understanding what it means to have a hybrid identity.
Sophia’s sense of adventure exists both off-screen and on-screen where she enjoys embodying characters that challenge her understanding of it means to authentically show up as yourself (something she hopes to inspire through her craft). She hopes that through acting, she can give other people permission to be curious and to be themselves- warts and all.
