Saarthak Taneja
Director | Cinematographer | Editor
Saarthak is a budding director, cinematographer, and editor from Vancouver. Since first picking up a camera at age 11, he hasn't looked back, and having recently graduated from the University of British Columbia he has been steadily accumulating industry experience through work on music videos, short films, and commercials. He's dabbled in modeling, acting, and writing, but found real love in creating visual art through directing and filming.
Saar has travelled extensively, and lived in both India and Japan for extended periods, giving him a keen eye for multicultural practices and skills. He hopes to continue building upon his arsenal of work and expand his areas of expertise through constant growth and learning; a process he never wants nor expects to end.
As in line with his diverse and multicultural upbringing, he wishes to maintain such diversity and perspective in his works, while also composing his own unique style. Moreover, though his career, training, experience and passion all lie in film, he actually opted for a degree in Sociology as he believes it further helped shape his lens of multifaceted values and conscientious understanding of the underlying fabric of inequality that runs deep through all planes of life.
Overall, Saar considers himself an artist in many forms, with a love and appreciation for any and all modes of art.
In his spare time Saar loves to partake in adventure sports and activities (adrenaline is key), eat as much ramen as he can find (gotta try em all), and make his friends laugh (without the use of big red shoes).
