Neeti Jain
Production Manager | VFX | Post Production | Producer | 2nd AD
I am a commerce graduate from Calcutta University, India and a film production postgraduate from Sheridan College, Oakville. I also have a certification in Production Management from LIFT along with Accounting basics from Centennial College, TO.
During my time in Sheridan, I co-produced a documentary, "Family Affair," based on colorism within the family, which CBC Absolutely Toronto picked in 2019- 2021. I also researched and wrote about single women and the stigma around them in a documentary called as “TheSword”, which screened in many festivals, including Toronto Short International Film Festival. Along with those two, I also researched and co-produced a short on drug killings in the Philippines & researched/ developed a short documentary called “Urban Inuq”
Apart from the above, I am fortunate to work with some very talented creative professionals in the past five years in Canada. I have been the part of projects like Potluck Ladies, Dreams in VantaBlack, Prey, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters to name a few. Though, I a, truly grateful for all the opportunities I have had so far, somehow I am still not able to break the invisible glass ceiling, I would love to be involved in more Canadian productions, not limited to independent productions.
Before coming to Canada I was working in India's media/ film industry. From working amidst the hustle of the newsroom to covering fashion week or food shows as a production crew. From being on sets for advertisements as an Art AD to working on mainstream films as an assistant director. The more I involved myself in filmmaking, the more I realized I would love to bring the script to screen and aimed to be part of/ creative produce such stories unheard of, not recognised but essential to be out there.
