Karan Viegas is a film composer and record producer whose music weaves neo-classical styles with contemporary and cross-cultural influences. Based in Toronto after a decade in New York City, he brings a unique voice that ranges from playful to poignant, orchestral to synthetic, always in service of the story.
Karan has created music for projects across film, television and theatre. He created original music for the Toronto Fringe musical comedy Self Helpless (2025) and is set to release his debut EP, Agape!, in 2026. His collaborators have included members of The Lion King on Broadway, the Philip Glass Ensemble and the Berklee Indian Ensemble. His work has been featured in Rolling Stone and on BBC Radio 1, and screened on Citytv+, at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival and at Outline Festival Moscow.
Born in Bombay into a family of musicians, Karan trained in classical piano for 12 years through Trinity College London. He founded experimental rock bands as a drummer and songwriter before moving into film scoring and production. He is a graduate of Columbia University and previously designed digital products for creators at Spotify and Wattpad, reflecting his dedication to supporting the human artist ecosystem.
