Put the local film community in one unforgettable room.
During VIFF, Filmable and Collective Bunch gather emerging creators, industry veterans and international guests to celebrate the people making ambitious work in British Columbia.

The idea
Celebrate the work - and engineer the collision.
The Spotlight Party was designed as more than an industry social. It gives local filmmakers visibility during VIFF and creates the conditions for emerging talent, established professionals and international guests to meet naturally.
The opportunity
Make a large industry feel human-sized.
Creative careers move through relationships. A welcoming, high-energy gathering can collapse the distance between people who need opportunity and people who can open a door.
What we did
A party with purpose under the hood.
Collective Bunch and Filmable convened more than 500 guests around local work, music and food. Alongside the gathering, four aspiring directors stepped into the director’s chair with mentorship, a full production crew and post-production support.
The impact
Visibility became conversation. Conversation became connection.
The initiative showcased home-grown filmmakers, created direct access to working industry professionals and demonstrated Collective Bunch’s ability to deliver a complex, high-attendance cultural event with a broad partner group.
What comes next
Keep the spotlight moving.
The model can grow into more professional-development opportunities, commissioned work, mentorship and direct pathways for the people the event brings together.
