Emma Ruthnum
Producer | Production Manager
I’m Emma Ruthnum, a Producer residing on the lands of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh people (Vancouver, BC). Born in Scotland, I am of mixed South Asian (Mauritian) and European descent.
I have over nine years of international production experience in various sides of the advertising business producing a wide spectrum of jobs, from ethical campaigns and short documentaries to large scale multi-platform social, broadcast and radio content.
I have made a natural transition into the advertising industry world, currently working as a Broadcast Producer.
Prior to working at an agency, I was a freelance Producer, and an in-house Senior Producer for a large global cosmetics brand prior to that. I've also worked in the service production industry as a freelance Production PM/Assistant Production Supervisor for some of the largest commercial jobs filmed in Vancouver, around BC and Prague. Clients included Lexus, Google, Nintendo, Amazon, Discovery Channel UK and a global Toyota Olympics Campaign. I also have a degree in Journalism but immediately found myself immersed in what was always referred to as “the dark side (advertising)”.
I am actively working to connect BIPOC and people from underrepresented communities with opportunities in any way that I can. Especially through commercial production. Please reach out and say hello!
