Jesse Wicklund
Cinematographer
Jesse Wicklund is an emerging Cinematographer currently living on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations (Vancouver, Canada).
He started his film journey at 19 enrolling at BCIT (British Columbia’s institute of technology) earning himself a diploma for Film/Television/broadcast media production all while working for Canada’s Largest film rental Equipment Company William F whites Inc. where he learned all the tools of the trade in lighting and grip.
He has spent several years working his way through the lighting department as a Technician, Best Person, Gaffer and is now focusing his energies towards Cinematography.
In 2018 he was a Co-Director Of Photography with Marco Bossow on the award winning Independent throw-back horror short film “The Desolation Prize” directed by Shane day for Skinner Street Films. He has since served as a Cinematographer for the short film “Crumbs” for the Crazy 8’s film festival in Vancouver.
Seeking projects of all stripes, Whether it be narrative film, music video, commercials, or Documentary he has with time strengthened and focused his instincts for the craft of cinematography.
He believes that the cinematographer needs to represent the directors vision accurately, appropriately, and artistically. Being of mixed Heritage (Cree, Métis, Swedish, Welsh) he stands alongside BIPOC story tellers and strives to be an individual who can help tell their stories with light and lens.
