Jenny Lee-Gilmore

Jenny is an actor, writer & director based in Vancouver, BC. Born in England, Jenny moved to Vancouver at age 13. She completed her BFA in Film Production at the University of British Columbia in 2019, taking additional classes in Asian Canadian studies and gender studies. Her debut short film Breakaway, about a young Chinese-Canadian girl who dreams of playing hockey, played in festivals across North America. Breakaway is now being developed into a YA series with the support of IPF, CBC and The Canada Media Fund. Jenny is currently in post production with Overtime, a mid-length documentary about her mom's 55+ hockey team as they compete in the Canadian Nationals. Jenny strives to continually be learning and honing her skills. She recently participated in the 2022 BIPOC TV & Film Showrunner Bootcamp and the 2021 VIFF Catalyst Program.
Jenny also works in production as a director's/producer's assistant. She has worked on projects for Disney, Netflix, Lionsgate, NBC and APTN. When Jenny is not working she is at the rink playing hockey, watching scary movies or vintage shopping. In the future Jenny hopes to continue making films about inspiring women and one day work with Sandra Oh and Mindy Kaling.
