I was born in a small indigenous village in Colombia, and from a very early age I was fascinated by storytelling, first as oral history and later as a theatre and film. I alternate between working as a 1stAD in the production machinery and my own creative endeavours. I cut my theatre-teeth as a playwright with Camila’s Bones, a dystopian play about the future of immigration. This was followed by two short films that gathered support from the National Film Board of Canada, The Ontario Arts Council, LIFT, Hansen Film Institute and Canada Council as well as screening at numerous festivals.

After reconnecting with my indigenous roots, I founded Shain Wuunu Experimental Arts Centre in Palomino, Colombia; a community hub dedicated to the arts, free education, technology and indigenous values. Currently, the centre supports the artistic endeavours of 30 children in an area that has been deeply affected by decades of extreme violence fueled by the drug trade.

My most recent Associated producing credits are: On the Line, a 7 Million US feature for Endeavor Content, and A Translator, which world premiered at Sundance in 2019 and has gone onto collecting several accolades, including official Cuban entry to the Oscars 2020.

Last year, I was invited to CANNESERIES to pitch my TV Series, My Fellow Americans, which was selected in the top 20 out of 400 projects. A deal with RT features is being worked out. Also last year, I was invited to ReelWorld E20 with my project, The Wind’s Thirst. A documentary about the ongoing genocide of the Wayuu people at the hands of the mining industry and the Colombian government. I am currently focusing on my feature, Seeds, a film based on Operation Peter Pan. A CIA plan to undermine the Cuban revolution.
