Kevin Huie

Kevin Huie is a Chinese American Canadian Assistant Director and Producer. He is a member of the Directors Guild of America, Producers Guild of America, and Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (Directors Peer Group).
Kevin got his first taste of the film industry during his last year at UCRiverside, on the indie movie, "It's A Mismatch". The movie was a Bollywood style musical with English dialogue. After graduation he started freelancing in the film industry, working on mostly low budget indie features and shorts.
As an assistant director, Kevin has worked on over 50 feature films and over 70 shorts. Notable feature films he worked on include, Chink a.k.a #1 Serial Killer an AAPI horror/slasher movie that premiered at 2013 LAPFFF. "Ties That Bind", drama feature that was filmed in Ghana, which won Best Editing, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Production Design, Best Editting, Best Cinematography at the 2011 Ghana Movie Award. And "Song of Back and Neck", which was nominated for Best Narrative Feature at 2018 Tribeca Film Festival.
Kevin has also lent his assistant directing talents to the TV shows, "911: Lone Star" (Fox), "Good Trouble" (Freeform/Disney), "Love, Victor" (Hulu/Fox), and "Never Have I Ever" (Netflix).
As a producer, Kevin has produced a ensemble stand up special feature film, "Brash Boys Club", which feature 3 gay stand up comedians. As well as the second season of the stand up comedy series Comedy InvAsian, which feature eight Asian American comedians, currently on Peacock.
His latest endeavor is producing a coming-of-age AAPI feature film, "Last Summer of Nathan Lee". It premiered at the San Francisco at CAAMFEST 2023. It's currently available to buy/rent on Amazon and SVOD on AsianAmericanMovies.com.
