Mike Nichol
Mike Nichol is an emerging Black Haida filmmaker from Gaw (Old Masset), born and raised in North Vancouver. After his father was removed from his community through the sixties scoop,
Mike made connections to Indigenous communities through soccer and basketball. He Has also enjoyed coaching youth basketball and soccer. He worked as an environmental monitor, protecting traditional territory of the Coast Salish people. He found his passion for filmmaking through the intersecting outreach program. Completed the Indigenous film program, and is continuing to study film at Capilano University to complete his Bachelor of Motion Picture Arts.
