Osric Chau is a Chinese-Malaysian Canadian Filmmaker from Vancouver Canada and has been a working actor for over 20 years. After joining the Canadian National Wushu team in 2007, he landed his first leading role utilizing his martial arts expertise in the Spike TV mini-series Kung Fu Killer. He went on to play a supporting role in Roland Emmerich’s blockbuster epic “2012” before moving to Beijing, China where Osric worked on several Chinese American co-productions including the Chinese remake of “What Women Want” with Andy Lau and Gong Li. In 2011, Osric booked a leading role in Paramount Pictures “Fun Size” which brought him back to North America. Osric’s work has spanned all genres, from 6 seasons on CW’s horror drama “Supernatural” to playing an insane energy vampire as a series regular in two seasons of “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” to becoming the first Asian American superhero on TV as ‘The Atom’ in the Arrowverse crossover events.
His dramatic work includes a recurring guest star in “Nancy Drew” and the Canadian series “Blood and Water” where Osric’s performance earned him a Leo Award. Osric also became the first Asian leading man in a Hallmark film in 2022’s “Christmas at the Golden Dragon”. Over the last few years, Osric has put his focus on producing with his first feature, “Empty by Design”, filmed in the Philippines which premiered as the Closing Night Film of the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. His second feature, “Superhost” was sold directly to Shudder as a Shudder Original, and his third feature “Jonah” was picked up by Gravitas Pictures after premiering at the Austin Film Festival. Osric also wrote and directed his first short film, “Good News” which premiered at Austin Film Festival as well.
